PFLAG Tri-Cities Elections
Hello PFLAG Friends,
We hope you are all doing well and enjoying this Memorial Day Weekend. Don’t forget to remember our fallen soldiers who were GLBT and not allowed to identify themselves as such. They were real heroes to us all.
Your Steering Committee has been working hard to finalize some guidelines for PFLAGTriCities first election since we re-formed in April 2008.
Here is what we have come up with:
We have four offices: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and a Member-At-Large position. Five people so far have volunteered to be nominated for these.
We will continue taking nominations until Midnight, June 4. You may nominate yourself or someone else (via e-mail) for any of the above positions. If you nominate someone else, they must send a confirmatory e-mail expressing their agreement to be nominated.
Additionally, any new nomination must be accompanied by a biographical statement of interest in a leadership position and the work of PFLAGTriCities. If we do not receive a biographical statement by Midnight June 4 that accompanies a new nomination, that nomination will not be considered valid.
Please note, all nominees for a leadership position in PFLAGTriCities must be a member-in-good standing (i.e. your dues are currently paid for membership year 2010).
After the nominations have closed, The Steering Committee will announce the candidates, publish their bios and announce the procedure for finalizing the election. The election will be finalized at our regular monthly meeting, Thursday June 17, 2010.
We are excited to be ushering in this new phase of development in PFLAGTriCities. We appreciate the opportunity to work so closely with all of you for a cause that is so dear to all of us.
